Budget Vote 2009

OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL BUDGET VOTE
PORT BYRON CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
MAY 19, 2009



At 8:45 A.M. Charleen Wood, Notary Public and District Clerk, administered the Inspection of Election oath of office to Gladys Turner, Marian Ellinwood, Sharon Stoneberg, Jean Rooker, Ervin Rooker and Mary Grace Battram.

At 8:55 A.M. the Inspectors of Election, Gladys Turner, Marian Ellinwood, Sharon Stoneberg, Jean Rooker, Ervin Rooker and Mary Grace Battram checked the voting machines for proper placement and legibility of ballots.  The inspectors checked the machines to verify the public counters were set at zero (0) and noted the numbers of each machine’s protective counter.

At 9:00 A.M. Mr. Donald Waterman, Chairman, read the propositions and declared the polls open for voting.

Registration and voting took place through the day and evening.

At 9:00 P.M. Mr. Waterman declared the polls closed.  Gladys Turner, Chief Inspector of Elections secured the machines against further voting.  Mrs. Turner unlocked the machines and read the results of the machines to the inspectors.  Numbers from the public and protective counters were recorded and the machines were re-secured.

Mrs. Turner calculated the totals from the two voting machines and the absentee ballots.

Mr. Waterman read the following results:

Mr. Waterman declared propositions 1, 2, and 3 passed.




Board of Education Members – TWO (3) three-year terms and ONE 1 year terms:

Melinda Quanbeck    328

Joseph Verdi            325

Maralee Hare           301


Mr. Waterman declared Melinda Quanbeck and Joseph Verdi as newly elected board members for three year terms and Maralee Hare newly elected board member for a one year term.

Mr. Waterman adjourned the meeting at 9:25 P.M.
